A failed internet business transaction resulted in a defamation suit against Wingert Grebing’s client.  Mr. Grebing successfully moved to dismiss the complaint pursuant to California’s Anti-SLAPP statute, which the state legislature enacted to protect the rights of petition and free speech.  The court then awarded Wingert Grebing’s client nearly $11,000.00 in fees and costs.
