Chris Todd successfully defended Bill Miller in a recent jury trial in which Mr. Miller’s retirement community, Casa de las Camapanas, located in Rancho Bernardo, tried to kick him out. Casa alleged that Mr. Miller failed to pay a sufficient monthly fee over the six months between October 2013 and March 2014. Chris defended Mr. Miller with evidence that Mr. Miller and his wife had paid over $800,000 during the course of their almost 11 years at Casa, and that they continued to pay everything which their modest fixed income retirement allowed them. The jury verdict was 11 to 1 in Mr. Miller’s favor. Additional litigation continues between Casa and Mr. Miller, and Casa and Mr. Miller’s family members. Chris represents their interests in those matters as well.
