Amy Simonson is among those recently recognized as a “Top Attorney” in a San Diego Daily Transcript poll. Finalists were chosen from reader nominations in various practice areas. Only ten San Diego attorneys were recognized in the area of insurance law.
Amy is a 2005 graduate of California Western School of Law. Her practice encompasses general business litigation, with an emphasis on disputes involving land use, business torts and contracts, and insurance coverage.
The Daily Transcript highlighted Amy’s success in obtaining more than half a million dollars in attorney fees in insurance bad faith cases. She has also certified and settled a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) class action on behalf of 111 employees; certified multiple plaintiff classes against local gyms based on claims of unfair business practices; and obtained a defense verdict on behalf of five of six defendants sued for misappropriation of trade secrets and related causes of action by a former employer. The verdict against the remaining defendant amounted to less than 10 percent of the plaintiff’s request to the jury.
