Steve Grebing and Amy Simonson recently obtained a six-figure settlement in favor of first time home-buyer clients resulting from the prosecution of claims for fraud, concealment and failure to disclose the existence of material defects against the seller and its general contractor. Prior to sale, the seller and its general contractor completely renovated the home and performed significant plumbing, electrical, sewer and foundational repairs. Shortly after moving in, the new owners discovered significant issues with the home that greatly impacted their use and enjoyment of the property. The matter was settled on the eve of trial after not having received any settlement offers during the discovery phase. The owners are now repairing the property.
