Steve Grebing recently obtained a favorable six figure settlement for a home buyer client in a matter involving the seller’s alleged failure to disclose known defects and other material conditions. The seller had made repairs to the property just before listing it for sale but did not disclose the performance of the repairs in any of the sales documentation or disclosure statements. The buyer discovered issues with the home shortly after moving in. After the filing of a complaint and the performance of initial discovery, the matter was settled at mediation, with the home buyer client having obtained funds to restore the property and eliminate the defects.
