Amy Simonson and Mallory Holt represented a San Diego homeowner who was sued by a contractor for claims of libel per se, arising out of customer reviews relating to a dispute over residential remodeling. After the trial court denied an anti-SLAPP motion to strike the complaint, Wingert Grebing successfully obtained reversal on appeal with direction to the trial court to enter an order granting the anti-SLAPP motion. The Court awarded Wingert Grebing’s client over $50,000 in prevailing party attorney fees and costs.
