Three years earlier, while playing at a different school, the QB played one play in the season. Yet according to the initial NCAA ruling, it counted as a full year for eligibility purposes.

For a collegiate quarterback, the consequences in his last year were enormous. This wasn’t simply about one season on a calendar. It was a year of competition, development, opportunity, exposure, and football that he could never get back.

For his family, the decision brought an emotional end to months of uncertainty. After watching their son work toward his goals while knowing that an entire season of his college career remained in jeopardy, the news that his year of eligibility had been restored was cause for celebration.

His mother, Mrs. C, responded immediately:
